June Empties!

Today let’s talk a little about the products I used up in June and there is a few bits and pieces this month. Like most of my fellow beauty addicts, I have quite a bit of makeup, skincare and haircare products. For that reason I try to use as many as possible before buying more, that was my big aim this past month! Plus I was running out of space to put all the products, ah the struggles.

So let me take you through these products and whether I liked, or didn’t like them.

Sukin oil balancing and pore refining facial scrub: I reviewed this range in my last blog post so I won’t go in depth too much, but let’s just say I love the product and it really did reduce my pores

Be Fresh makeup remover wipes: I do not hate, nor love this product. Does it remove my makeup? Well yes, it does but it leaves my skin feeling like it needs to be cleansed and washed which can be a bit frustrating if I just want to take off my makeup and go.

Moving on, I finished quite a few body shop products and samples that I had laying at the bottom of my bathroom draws.

Body butter: I love The Body Shop’s body butters, they almost always smell amazing and really hydrates the skin. I was disappointed with the frosted cranberry body butter, the scent was overwhelming and very powerful which was not something I enjoyed, however, the mango scent was just right and I loved slathering it over my body

Frosted cranberry shower gel: much like the body butter, the shower gel was way too overpowering for me to enjoy using it. However, I do enjoy the formula of the Body Shop’s shower gels

British Rose Body Scrub: I loved this product, it smelt amazing and had fine grains inside the shower gel like formula which exfoliated the skin and left my body feeling smooth and smelling incredible.

Himalayan Charcoal Mask: My lord, this is the best face mask I have ever tried. It removes dead skin cells and unblocks my pores while leaving my skin glowing and purified. Better yet, it does not break me out and actually removes pimples that are arising. Would highly recommend this face mask.

Maybelline Super Stay Concealer: This was definitely one that was disappointing, while I used it all I would not repurchase again. I usually love Maybelline products but this was a definite flop. I could not put it underneath my eyes as it would make it look cakey and crease so easily, not to mention the oxidisation that occurred. I used this product on spots I had, but other than that I would use a different concealer to actually conceal and brighten up my under eyes, nose, chin etc.

19692146_10212960787445084_1692053371_nCetaphil Cleanser: I received this in May’s bellabox and surprisingly it lasted me 2-3 weeks. At first, I disliked this product as it felt like it was gliding over the top layer of skin and not actually cleaning my face. I then used it with a facial puff and I saw and felt definite improvements. It cleansed my face well and while I probably wouldn’t buy it for myself I would recommend it to anyone who has sensitive skin.

La Roche Posay Micellar Water: I used this product every morning to remove the dirt that built up on my face throughout the night and it left my skin feeling refreshed, clean and soft. While I didn’t test it out for makeup removal I would definitely purchase again to quickly and easily cleanse my face of a morning.

Batiste Tropical Dry Shampoo: Last but not least is this beauty. I loved this product so much, not only did it remove excess oil from my roots but it smelled incredible! I will definitely be repurchasing this product again. The only recommendation I have for those with dark roots is to make sure you rub it into your hair well or it will leave a white residue that obviously isn’t very flattering.

BodyBlendz Oats Oats Baby Review

Happy Monday all, its the beginning of a new week and I’m here to tell you all about a fantastic product I have discovered! The company is called BodyBlendz and they a range of authentic scrubs which include a variety of goodies from the ground. For example, the Oats Oats Baby ingredients include arabica beans, sea salt, fine oatmeal, virgin olive oil, sweet almond oil, macadamia oil and last but not least jojoba oil. There’s no product in there that I would be afraid of putting onto my skin which is fantastic!

This here is the packaging for Oats Oats Baby and I’m obsessed with how sleek it looks! Better yet, I can bring the scrub into the shower with me and not be afraid of the packaging getting damaged or having it seep into the bag because of the materials they have used in their packaging!

22901468_10213987603834852_1322433238_n

Now, you’re probably wondering, OK but how/where do I apply this scrub well you take a bit of the scrub out of the bag and apply it either all over your body (which includes the face). Otherwise, you can do what I do and 2-3 times a week I’ll apply the scrub to my stretch marks and  acne scars on my face to help reduce the appearance of these (plus leave the area feeling smooth and fantastic!)

If you struggle with stretch marks and are looking to reduce the appearance of them I’d highly recommend BodyBlendz products. I notice immediately when I step out of the shower that my stretch marks look a lot less red and less noticeable. On the left you will see a before shot, on the right is an after shot.

I know the pictures aren’t the greatest of quality but its so hard taking photos before you jump in the shower and just after especially when you’re trying to get a good angle of your hips/tops of your legs!

If you decide you’d love to try these products out head over to BodyBlendz and check out the range of scrubs they have available. Psst! If you use the code SAVEBIG and subscribe to their monthly subscription service (where you pick your own scrub!) you’ll receive your first month FREE and can cancel anytime after 3 months!

‘Monster Ball’ Bath Bomb Review

After a long hiatus to focus on university and work commitments I am back and ready to be posting regularly. What a better way to bounce back from a stressful period of the year then telling you about a product that was relaxing and therapeutic.

22834391_10213947709957530_2036819795_n If you don’t recognise this product it is one of the Halloween themed bath bombs from Lush Cosmetics which is called ‘Monster Ball.’ As somebody who is obsessed with bath bombs how could I pass up the opportunity to have a monster-filled bath that is pink!

22809849_10213947715157660_490673237_n

As you can see ‘Monster Ball’ turned the water into a mixture of vibrant colours which looks incredible. I love the little bubbles as well as it reminds me of a bubbling cauldron which is a perfect fit with Halloween. Although it is aesthetically pleasing did it have any other amazing properties? I’m glad you asked because yes, yes it did!

22811270_10213947715197661_1531331523_n

The bath bomb had a sweet but not overpowering scent to it which led to an even more enjoyable and relaxing experience. Also like most of Lush Cosmetics bath bombs, it was moisturising and left my skin feeling well nourished and hydrated. Perhaps the best part was not having irritated skin or other body parts. I’m sure you ladies have had an experience that left your legs irritated, or maybe an irritation that led to an uncomfortable bathroom experience (we’ve all been there). However, not this product! The only negative I found was it was quite crumbly which wasn’t a big deal as I put it straight in the tub.

22782096_10213947716517694_1845450977_n

Lastly, as your bath bomb works its magic it simmers down to a vibrant purple colour with glitter and who doesn’t love a bit of glitter to spice up their nightly routine.

Thank-you for reading, catch you all very soon. xoxo

Oval Brushes Review

Happy Monday lovelies, I hope you have a great weekend and are ready for what this week holds for you. Today I am reviewing the oval brushes by Simple Glam Girls. I bought the 10 piece set which includes all the brushes pictured below. 20120722_10213091008660533_272120180_nThere are oval brushes for all different aspects, whether you want an eyeshadow brush or a brush to apply your foundation, this set has it all. Personally, I don’t get a lot of use out of the eyeshadow brushes as I don’t like using those kinds of brushes on my eyes however, I quite regularly use the foundation, concealer and contour brushes.IMG_6175Above is my favourite brushes for the Oval brush collection. They apply my foundation and concealer beautifully and leave my face looking flawless, even better than when I use a beauty blender or normal foundation brush. Not only does my makeup look more flawless but it also is much easier and quicker to blend out. What more could you want right?

Now you might be thinking, these brushes sound great I should buy some for myself or maybe you’re thinking that you would love to try maybe one or two brushes. Either is completely fine, if you head over to Simple Glam Girls website you can access the oval brush sets or the oval brushes individually. Additionally, you can score yourself 20% off their entire site using my code ‘elegance’.

Bellabox June 2017 Review

In today’s blog post I will be reviewing last months winter wind-up bellabox. This was my third ever bellabox and I was really impressed with the products this month. All the products I received were nourishing and moisturising, just what I needed for winter. 20046215_10213089332858639_1351081148_n

Firstly, I was so happy to receive the Goldwell just smooth 60-second hair colour treatment. I love treating my hair and not only does this product smell amazing but it makes my hair feel so soft and smooth. I use this beauty once a week and focus particularly on the ends to hydrate those pesky strands.

The Nivea creme is another super hydrating and moisturising product that I love putting on those dry spots and cracks that I get on my knuckles, elbows or even my knees. I love that it comes in tin form so you can use all the product up instead of having leftovers and wastage at the bottom of a bottle.

Nutraplus anti dryness lotion is one I keep in my bed side table and apply to my hands every night before I go to sleep. It keeps my hands moisturised and even better, the formula is not greasey. I really dislike hand lotions that make me feel like I can’t do or touch anything afterwards, but this bad boy certainly doesn’t provide that feeling.

20067890_10213089332658634_797190254_nThe next product is the beautiful Rimmel lipstick by Kate Moss that I received in the shade 130. It is a creamy lipstick in a beautiful shade that is long-wearing and very hydrating on the lips. It is a lipstick I am so happy to have added to my ever growing collection.

20136454_10213089332698635_1919833466_nLast but not least is the nourishing chia seed oil by Sukin skin care. As some of you may know, I love this brand and this product is no exception. I apply this product at night time before my moisturiser. I do this to create a hydrating base that will last me all night long. In the morning I ensure to cleanse my face and remove this excess oil so I am not oily throughout the day. If you’re looking for a hydrating oil to add to your skin care routine I would highly recommend this one.
